Research on practice and evaluation by using information and communication technology to support learning

In the field of technology development research for learning support, Watanabe and Kashiwabara et al. describe two research approaches in reference [1] as follows.

1) Elemental technology and system development through the application of ICT (application-oriented research)

2) Research that models phenomena in learning and education, designs the required learning and education support technologies, and introduces ICT to realize them (model-oriented research)

Now, what I want you to consider is how to describe the effectiveness of the system. No matter how well designed and constructed a system is, it must show its effectiveness. You can prove the effectiveness of the system you have researched and developed by putting it into practice and evaluating its effectiveness. In research papers, quantitative research methods or qualitative research methods are used as a way of expressing the effectiveness of the system. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. The designated paper is also unique in that it briefly describes the advantages and disadvantages of each, and talks about the possibilities of their integration. Reference [2] describes the differences between quantitative and qualitative research methods from a paradigmatic perspective. The literature also takes the position that quantitative and qualitative research methods are incompatible. Reference [3] is a literature that examines research methods for turning "information system prototype development", which is said to be difficult to turn into a paper, into a paper.

Go through the assigned paper and list what you found out about the quantitative or qualitative research methods and what you wondered about. Conduct research on what you have wondered about and report what you have learned. Make three headings: "What you found out," "What you wondered about," and "Findings. Also include discussion and source information in the Findings section.

Although the paper is designated as a paper, you may use references [2] or [3] as a substitute for the designated paper.
